As the primary songwriter of all of Elegance Without Design's songs I wanted to assure anyone who enjoys their music (and I assume you do, which is why you're reading this) that the band's songs were not generated with AI, although AI was used in their recording.
I've been writing songs for over 30 years and most of the songs of Elegance Without Design were fully written recorded, as demos, before artificial intelligence existed.
I've used Suno as a tool to re-arrange the songs in a softly delivered indie pop style. I gave Suno my existing recordings, in other words, and it has created new version of those songs, but the songs were already written pre-Suno.
Had I been able to interest a real band in any of my songs, with record company backing, I would have loved to have had humans record, release and perform my songs. Absent that, the only way for me to get my songs “out there” is to use AI.
